Actor and pro surfer Tamayo Perry killed in Hawaii shark attack

 


January 2024, a 39-year-old man named Jason Carter died after a shark encounter off the coast of Maui. He was pulled from the water by jet ski and given lifesaving measures, but later succumbed to his injuries at Maui Memorial Medical Center​ .

Additionally, another incident in December 2020 involved a surfer who was attacked by a shark in Honolua Bay, Maui. This attack led to the cancellation of the World Surfing League’s Maui Pro competition​ .
